Who??? You??? Are you sure!?? Tough call buddy! But a brave one!

Operations management is the most real, but rarely opted stream of management in India. Personally, I am a big fan of Operations and mainly because two of my closest pals at IIM A were hard core lovers of the stream!!!

Operations is all about readily implementable strategies, cost effectiveness, process efficiency and lots more which would send orgasmic waves to people who love numbers!!

So, the colleges which decently offer these streams!!

1. NITIE, Mumbai: Crack CAT and get in here. 98+ percentile will be fine. A great alumni base in the operations sector in India. A hub for engineering minds!

2. SJSOM, IIT Mumbai: Another well reputed college for Operations stream. Good placements and operational mindset prevails in the campus.

3. SCMHRD, IIT Delhi: Good ones again. Companies reckon these as operation campuses as well, not primarily though. Should be the second preference for operations freaks post NITIE and IIT B.

4. IIMs: Not known wildly for their operations stream, but some sharp ones choose that as an option there as well and companies come down to serve their wills :)

Looking for a PGDM in HR??? These are the hot cakes

PGDM in HR stream is offered across various B schools in India, but the corporate HR sector is largely dominated by the big guns XLRI, TISS and SCMHRD.

XLRI Jamshedpur: The premium college under XAT and perhaps the toughest one to crack in terms of the paper difficulty. XL - HR is by far the best HR offering in the country. Go to any corporate house in Mumbai and every 6 out of 10 top HR managers will be from XL!!! Such is the power and beauty of this stream from XL!!!!

TISS: Not a B school like the many others we talk about here. But, has a strong presence in the corporate houses as far as HR is considered. Conducts separate exams and is a call worth taking for HR aspirants!

SCMHRD: Lovely campus, smart people, good HR backing in the industry, SCMHRD is a decent HR school in western India. Good option for all those who want to specialize in HR as a career option.

MDI Gurgaon: Decent pick for HR institutes. Offers a PGDM specialization in HR as well. Well reputed, umbrella brand scores more than the specialization here.

(Special mention) XISS, Ranchi: Ok option for Personal management stream for aspirants in East India. Decent reputation in the eastern zone with placements at the regional/local levels.

MBA in Ranchi??? Options!!!

Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand provides good B-school options to students across percentile ranges.

1. IIM Ranchi: A new budding IIM which has shown lots of potential both in terms of quality of education and corporate connections!

2. XISS: Decent institute for PM and RD streams: decent placements, average education. Preferably better to opt for BIT Mesra when compared to other streams offered at XISS

3. BIT Mesra: Decent college, average education but a good brand name with placements almost at par with XISS.

4. ISM Pundag, MIM Ranchi, Kejriwal Institute Ranchi: MIM and Kejriwal are new institutes which have come up in the city and are showing promise of becoming the real B-schools in the zone! They might already have become the student preference over ISM Pundag. Good ROI!!!

5. S.N.Sinha, Parnami, BITT: Still a long way to go! BOP options in the city! Early days for them, tough to predict. But good on personalized attention to the students!
